Immediately after Jalen Carter grabbed Daniel Jones’ hips and wrestled him to the ground for his second sack of the day in the Eagles’ win over the New York Giants, the second-year defensive tackle popped up and looked for Nolan Smith.

The New York Giants talked all offseason about potentially replacing Daniel Jones at quarterback. Seven games into the 2024 NFL season, they finally did just that, pulling the $160 million signal-caller in favor of backup Drew Lock against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

He was followed late in the first half by cornerback Darius Slay, who was limping after a hit in the final seconds of the half. There was no word yet on Slay's injury, but he was listed as questionable for the game after suffering a knee injury against the Browns.
